Hampton University Students Camping Adventure

Brownie’s Outdoor’s inaugural camping expedition at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach took place from April 5th to April 7th and was an enchanting adventure filled with joy and discovery. Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of nature, Brownie’s Outdoors and their companions embarked on a journey of exploration and relaxation. Days were spent traversing scenic trails, nature journaling, exploring different organisms in the area, and enjoying the scenic views while cleaning up the beach. Evenings brought the cozy glow of campfires, where stories were shared and marshmallows and pizza bagels toasted on the fire.

For most, this was their very first camping trip, adding an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the adventure. The park provided a perfect backdrop for this initiation into outdoor living. Together, we navigated the basics of setting up tents, building fires, and cooking over open flames, each experiencing a new lesson in self-sufficiency and teamwork. Overall, everyone who had the opportunity to participate in this experience, whether or not they had been camping before, thoroughly enjoyed their experiences and said they would gladly do this trip again.
