I grew up in Maryland and at an early age was exposed to white water rafting in Pennsylvania and West Virginia on weekend trips with my family. As a teenager, I spent every weekend on the Eastern Shore of Maryland hunting, fishing, and crabbing in or around many of the Federal and State properties. As a college student in Bozeman, Montana we had some of the most legendary national parks just hours and minutes away. Fishing, hiking, and camping were activities that will forever endear me to the National Parks.
After graduating from Calvert Hall College High School near Baltimore, MD, I graduated from Montana State University with a BA in Pre-law and minor In economics. Soon after, I worked for merchant bank Robert Fleming in London for 5 years then Credit Suisse First Boston for 9 years. I joined Edgewood Management in 1995 as a partner and portfolio manager. Our firm manages portfolios on behalf of family groups, foundations, and endowments based in the US, Europe, Scandinavia, Latin America, and the Middle East. I served on the board of the Montana State University Endowment for 10 years where I was chairman of the investment committee for 3 years, and also on the Board of Governors of the New Canaan Library for 4 years.
“I am excited to be part of an organization that engages under-served youth with the wonders of our national parks system, while also preserving and protecting our critical parklands. ”
