Protected Park
Zion National Park, UT
In 2018, the Park Trust helped preserve 35 acres in Zion National Park. The private land inside the park was near Firepit Knoll. The 1,000-foot Job’s Head formation overlooks the property. A local rancher, who owned the property for 20 years, wished that it become part of the park. The Park Trust supplied funds for due diligence and the purchase closing process.
The land preserves the natural environment and undisturbed views of the Zion Wilderness. The property, in the northwest area of the park, is an important section of the park for hikers traveling the popular Hop Valley Trail. In protecting this area from development, visitors can continue to enjoy the natural landscape unique to Zion.
